Chamber Singers

by Jessica Isaac last modified November 10, 2009 05:56 AM

CSUSB Chamber SingersThe Chamber Singers is a select small ensemble.  Consisting of around 30 voices, this group focuses on advanced, primarily unaccompanied repertoire specifically suited for chamber choir.  The Chamber Singers were invited, by audition, to perform at the 2009 California Music Educators Association (CMEA) Convention.  They also frequently appear in concert with the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra.  In March 2009, they performed Stravinsky's Mass with the

SBSO, and will be collaborating on Mendlessohn's Lobgesang in 2010.

In June 2008, the ensemble embarked on a performance tour to Italy, where they performed in such venues as Rome's Santa Maria Maggiore and the Duomo of Santa Maria al Mare on the Amalfi Coast. They will be traveling to Spain in June 2010, where they will give the world premiere performance of Manuel Garcia's (1775-1832) setting of the Mass, in the composer’s hometown of Seville.
